I’m Kati, a licensed massage therapist in Olympia, Washington. I came to massage as a single parent, looking for a life change, and I discovered that the world of bodywork is larger and much more expansive than I ever knew. I consider myself to be a life long learner, and I have found that I can’t get enough of learning massage. I have always been interested in the human body and am someone who would be happy to teach you about the systems that make us tick. I also work as the night class kinesiology teacher at Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage.
Here are some things I believe :
- Your body is your home, and you deserve to feel comfortable and safe in your home. To help encourage this feeling, it is important to not only address the soft tissue, but to acknowledge the nervous system as well.
- A massage therapist is a facilitator. We all have the capability to bring about self-healing, but sometimes we need support. It is my privilege to help facilitate that.
- Bodywork cannot solve all your problems, but it can alleviate symptoms. The ultimate secret to feeling better is taking an active role in your own care and wellness.
- A massage session is about the client. Nothing will be accomplished if you lay on the table with the intention of taking whatever the massage therapist chooses to dole out. Your input matters for your body and affects how you receive the work.
- Movement, sleep, and hydration together are THE medicine. Without these things, the body cannot function. Without sleep and hydration, the body cannot repair.
